Problem creating protection group for Hyper-V (Windows 2008 SP2 native install) in DPM 2010 RC

Ao utilizar o MS Data Protection Manager 2010 Release Candidate (DPM 2010 RC) para efetuar o backup de máquinas virtuais hyper-v hospedadas sob o Windows Server 2008 SP2, uma mensagem de erro indicando que os requisitos para o bakup das VMs no servidor host em questão não estão sendo atendidos:

Windows Server 2008 with

Pesquisando na Internet foi encontrada uma discussão relacionada a este caso no fórum público do DPM na Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.dataprotectionmanager&tid=76653e9c-d003-4dba-845c-5735106ca010&cat=&lang=&cr=&sloc=&p=1), onde o engenheiro da Microsoft “Angad Pal Singh (ansingh@microsoft.com)” indicava que o problema ocorre devido fato da versão RC do DPM 2010 não identificar que uma instalação do Windows Server 2008 efetuada com a mídia que já inclui o SP2 possui o pré-requisito (KB948465) nativamente instalado.

Para tanto ele indicou que fosse enviado um email aos seus cuidados solicitando o Hotfix Privado para a solução do referido problema.

Foi enviado um email solicitando o Hotfix e junto à solicitação foi encaminhado a saída do comando “systeminfo” do servidor host hyper-v (Windows 2008 c/SP2) em questão e recebi a resposta abaixo com o Hotfix privado em anexo:

Rogerio,

I am attaching a private of the file, dpmra.exe that you need to replace on each of your Hyper-V servers deployed using a slipstream version(native SP2 install) of Windows. Following are the steps you need to perform on each server:

1.       Copy the file on the server and rename by adding a .zip extension (RSJ: Já está com a extensão .zip!).
2.       Extract dpmra.exe from the zipped file.
3.       Stop the dpmra service using the command, ‘net stop dpmra’ on the server.
4.       Backup the original dpmra.exe under the location %system files%\Microsoft DPM\DPM\bin\ to dpmra.exe.bak.
5.       Copy the modified dpmra.exe to the same location.
6.       Start the dpmra service using the command, ‘net start dpmra’.

After doing this on the Hyper-V server, go to the agent management tab in the DPM server and refresh the agent status for the server. Now try to backup your VM.
